Restaurants
Bluffs Grill and Tap
1548 Parkway, Suite 301, Sevierville, TN
This is a local secret. Yes, it is a bar, but the food is FANTASTIC. Every burger is topped with the biggest onion ring you’ve ever seen. Great food, great bar, fun games, plus outdoor patio. (And Knox Dough is right next door!!)
The Local Goat
2167 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN
Excellent food. I love the burgers, but it’s ALL fantastic, and all locally sourced (hence the name). The deep fried deviled eggs are definitely a treat.
Feasters on Teasters
2391 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN
Without a doubt, some of the BEST food you will eat in Pigeon Forge. And amazing service to boot. When you sit down, they bring you complementary bread with different kinds of butters. You also get homemade chips and fried okra too! The restaurant is Native American-themed, and everything is wonderful.
Graze Burgers
125 Bruce Street, Sevierville, TN
A little farther away, but I promise they have AMAZING burgers and the BEST onion rings!!
Downtown Sevierville is beautiful, so make sure to spend some extra time walking around and admiring the architecture. There’s a butterfly mural just down from Graze Burgers. And, make sure to get a picture with the Dolly Parton statue on the corner of the Courthouse lawn.
Paw Paw’s Catfish Kitchen
2760 Wears Valley Rd, Sevierville TN 37862
New Orleans-style cooking. Great little lunch spot with a seasonal sno-cone stand outside.
Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant
applewoodfarmhouserestaurant.com
240 Apple Valley Road, Sevierville, TN 37862
Fantastic food, whether you eat breakfast or dinner. The apple fritters are the best!! Make sure to stop in the Apple Barn store for fun souvenirs to take back home. They also have a great winery with free tastings daily!!
Sawyer’s Farmhouse Breakfast
2831 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN
So many great choices including breakfast platters, omelettes, crepes, waffles and more. But the bananas fosters French toast is the BEST.
Flapjacks Pancake Cabin
2734 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN
Great breakfast! Here’s a quick tip on pancakes: all of the adult meals come with a side of HUGE pancakes. So, there’s no need to order off the kids menu if you’d rather just share your pancakes with them. If you don’t, please know that there’s so much food, you’ll need to bring a doggy bag back to the cabin.
Boss Hoggs
1198 Wears Valley Road, Pigeon Forge, TN
Really good BBQ, outdoor picnic tables, and be sure to take a picture in the oversized Adirondack chair outside.
Activities
The Coaster at Goats on the Roof
1341 Wears Valley Road, Pigeon Forge, TN
Even if you don’t want to ride the coaster, it’s worth stopping in to feed the goats and buy some fudge. If you go up to the 2nd floor of the gift shop, you can watch the goats who are literally on the roof.
XXX Moonshine
3154 Wears Valley Rd, Sevierville, TN
Free tastings available. Try their many flavors. Highly recommend S’mores and Caramel!
Parrott Mountain and Gardens
1471 McCarter Hollow Rd, Pigeon Forge TN 37862
Such a beautiful place. There are hundreds of beautiful tropical birds. You can hold the birds, feed the birds, have your picture made with gorgeous birds sitting on top of you. There is even a deli where you can have lunch.
Crave Golf Club
2925 Parkway, Pigeon Forge
The best Putt-Putt for kids!! Indoor course, outdoor course, escape rooms, mini-bowling, candy store, and you can’t leave without having some of the BEST soft serve ice cream! Great rainy day activity.
Smoky Mountain Deer Farm Exotic Petting Zoo and Riding Stables
478 Happy Hollow Lane, Sevierville TN 37876
One of a kind petting zoo. They have goats, elk, camels, zebras, zonkeys, emu, and kangaroos. The kids will love this place. You can hug the baby goats! Bring your camera!!
Tubing down the river
Lots of places in Townsend to go tubing. We preferred the Smoky Mountain River Rat.
Places to see
Friendly Falls and Magic Gem Mine
2135 Wears Valley Road, Sevierville TN
Just a cute little place to get an ice cream or beer and walk down to see the Falls. Very peaceful.
Foothills Parkway
Take a drive at sunrise, sunset or any time of day. This is a short 15-minute drive from the cabin to get on the Parkway. Gorgeous views of the mountains, ridges and valleys, with plenty of pull offs. Pro tip: Google the sunset time, pack up your dinner, take a blanket or chairs and set up about 30 minutes before and watch the sun set. Some of the best colors happen after the sun goes down.
Bluff Mountain Fire Tower
3102 Green Top Road, Pigeon Forge, TN 37876
Amazing 360-degreen views from the top. Even if you don’t climb the tower, the views from the top are worth the scenic drive up the mountain.
Cades Cove
An 11-mile self-guided loop with hiking trails, historical churches and cabins for exploring, and so much wildlife. I recommend packing a picnic lunch and plenty of snacks, and don’t forget your camera. Head out early or stay in the evening, as most wildlife likes to move around in the mornings and evenings. Also, make sure to visit the camp store for THE BEST soft serve ice cream!!! (Pro tip: hit the Subway in Townsend before heading up the mountain and plan on having a picnic in the park. Pack plenty of drinks in case you get stuck in a bear traffic jam.)
Roaring Fork Motor Trail
This is similar to Cades Cove, as in a self-guided driving loop, but it’s half as long. It’s a 5.5 mile loop where you’ll find mountain streams and historic buildings. There’s a good chance you will see bears.
Clingman’s Dome
This is about an hour away, but if you love to take pictures, like I do, this is a MUST! This is the highest point in Tennessee. You can easily (1/2 mile) walk to the observation tower from the parking lot. The views are amazing, even from the parking lot. And if you are there at sunset, be ready for a show. If you are up for a hike, I highly recommend the trail to Andrews Bald, which is accessed from the parking lot.
